ATTORNEY CHRISTIAN D. AUSTIN: After graduating from law school at BYU, I spent the first couple years of my career representing business clients in complex emotional cases and then I came to Fabien in 2003 for the opportunity to focus on medical malpractice cases. Since I have come to Fabien in 2003, my focus has been almost exclusively on medical malpractice and catastrophic injury cases, although I still have some business clients.

For me, representing clients in medical malpractice gives me an opportunity to help individuals in a way that you can’t necessarily when you are in other kinds of litigation. Clients, medical malpractice clients have had a serious loss and they have a lot of questions. They are concerned about the care that they receive. They often have significant financial impacts from the loss that they have sustained. And representing those kinds of clients gives me an opportunity I think to help them. And to give them an avenue of recovery that they wouldn’t otherwise have and that gives me a lot of fulfillment and it also gives me a challenge.
